The story of Boggs is one rooted in legacy and land. For generations, the Boggs Experience has transformed lives through its enduring pillars: purpose, preparation, and performance. Anchored on sacred American land, this experience creates space for cultural expression, education, and land-based practices that nourish both the soul and the soil.

When Boggs Academy closed in 1984, it left behind more than just empty buildings—it left a legacy of excellence and impact that demanded preservation. In 1991, that legacy was reborn through the formation of Boggs Rural Life Center, Inc. (BRLC)—a nonprofit organization dedicated to continuing the mission of community empowerment across Burke County and surrounding rural areas.

Today, the historic Boggs campus spans more than 1,200 acres of farmland and forest, and includes dormitories, cottages, classrooms, barns, administrative buildings, and a 19,000-square-foot multi-purpose facility. Once a cradle of academic and moral excellence, Boggs is being reimagined as a hub for rural innovation, cultural restoration, and land stewardship.

At the heart of our mission is a renewed commitment to inspiring a new generation of leaders—visionaries, educators, faith-driven entrepreneurs, and civic changemakers—who are shaping a brighter future for rural Georgia and beyond. Through education, community programming, and hands-on development rooted in the land, we are restoring more than buildings—we are shaping and building lives.
